Motorola Solutions - Multi-Tenancy LXP
A multilingual, multi-tenancy learning experience platform (LXP) serving 250,000 users across the globe.
01
The client and their environment
Motorola Solutions operates in a complex electronics and communications environment, necessitating a standardised platform to scale training for a diverse global audience.
The industry requires high-level data security and segmentation to ensure that proprietary training materials are only accessible to specific client entities.
Managing various legacy platforms (like Drupal 7) while trying to modernise into a more agile, feature-rich LXP was presenting Motorola with significant technical hurdles.
02
The training challenge
Motorola Solutions had several key requirements for the project, which included:
- Custom Branding: A “walled garden” experience where large entities can offer product training under their own branding.
- Consolidation: Standardising several disparate training environments into one overarching platform for better sustainability
- Advanced Features: Requirements included a mobile app with offline capabilities, enhanced search via Coveo, and automated user management through Salesforce/C360.
Motorola chose Webanywhere based on a long-term positive relationship and trust in our technical ability to handle complex migrations and custom IT development.
The client valued our ability to act as a strategic partner, eventually moving from a fixed-price model to an Agile Sprints approach to handle the high complexity and evolving scope of the LXP evolution.

Our solution
Key features of the project included:
- Multi-Tenancy Branding: Ability to provide individual client agencies with their own logos, custom pages, and unique terms and conditions.
- LXP Evolution (Angular Frontend): A modern, responsive user interface replacing the legacy Drupal front end.
- Advanced Integrations: Seamless SSO and user profile management via Salesforce Service Cloud and C360.
The platform accommodates 250,000 users, including up to 800 concurrent users.
04
The result
This highly successful LXP project has a global reach – it covers internal employees, worldwide partners, and enterprise clients.
There is multilingual support for 18+ languages, including English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic.
Benefits seen by Motorola Solutions following the implementation include:
- New Cost Efficiencies: Support costs were optimised through a fair and equitable, unlimited support model, which reduced their support costs.
- Strategic Growth: The platform shifted from being a cost centre to a revenue source by allowing Motorola to sell branded “walled garden” training solutions to external partners.
- Increased Engagement: Early soft launches gathered end-user feedback, lowering risks by releasing features in manageable “chunks” to ensure high satisfaction upon full launch.
All the enterprise goals were met, technical and functional requirements signed off, and the project deemed a great success.
