The client and their environment
F.Hinds is a leading high street jewellers, with over 100 stores across the UK.
They had been using an older version of Totara LMS to manage the product training of its front-line employees. This learning management system was becoming increasingly outdated, lacking key functionality and modern features needed by their L&D team.

The training challenge
F.Hinds had several challenges with their existing platform:
- Critical security updates were required across all components, including the operating system, database, PHP, and the Totara application itself. In addition, the hosting infrastructure needed to transition to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to leverage a more scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solution.
- The user interface was clunky and unintuitive. Key information was fragmented between a dashboard and landing pages, resulting in a confusing and inefficient experience for employees.
- The payment system integration, which included an additional database for authentication purposes, was found to be redundant and unnecessarily complicated. Simplifying this integration was a priority.

Our solution
We implemented the latest version of Totara Learn LMS, improved the interface for L&D managers, and refreshed the learner-facing visuals to help engage employees with essential training.

The result
After our new Totara Learn implementation, F.Hinds were able to enjoy and leverage a much more modern and secure learning management system.
In particular, they praised the improved user experience and streamlined integrations with 3rd party systems.
